Plans Health Centres For Sokoto State
The
World Bank says it is to construct two comprehensive health
centres in Sokoto State, Northwest Nigeria, to boost healthcare
delivery.
The Programme Manager of the Sokoto State Health System
Development Project (HSDP), Alhaji Ibrahim Husseini, said the
centers would be located in Kurawa and Fajaldu villages in
Sabon-Birni and Dange/Shuni Local Government Areas of the state.
Husseini, who visited the proposed sites of the projects, said
the facility would include staff quarters, boreholes and over
head tanks.
According to him, ’’ The centres will be equipped with
standby generators, ambulances, drugs and state of the art
laboratories, among others.’’
The Chairman and Vice Chairman of Sabon Birni and Dange/Shuni
Local Governments, Alhaji Jelani Danbuga and Alhaji Abdulahi
Abubakar urged the people to safeguard the structures when
established.
The traditional heads of Gatawa and Fajaldu, Alhaji Isa Muhammed
and Malam Muhammadu Fajaldu, commended the bank for choosing to
locate the projects in their domains.
