Trust Promotes Good Governance

A
nine man committee of media practitioners and civil society
organizations has been set up by The British Broadcasting
Corporation, BBC Trust Nigeria, for proactive relationship in
networking, promotion, advocacy of good governance and
empowerment in Nigeria.
A top official of the BBC World Service Trust Nigeria, Mrs.
Fatima Shehu said the initiative was to ensure that
accountability, transparency, popular participation;
predictability and stability were achieved in Nigeria.
Participants at the event made contributions on how to promote
mutual relationship between civil society organizations and the
media in the areas of effective communication,
transparency, credibility and trust in other to inform and
educate the society.
To spice up the programmes,
two Nigerian Artists music title-“Yahoozee by Olu
Edwards’s alias Maintain and Bukola Elemide popularly called Asa
“There is fire on the Mountain” was reviewed. Both songs
were interpreted as Nigerian’s materialistic drive and political
environment where nobody cares.
