Supports Tony Blair For EC Presidency
The
former British Prime Minister, Mr. Tony Blair has
been tipped for the Presidency of the European
Council.
Europe Minister, Baroness Kinnock said Tony Blair‘s
nomination was preferred due to his “strength of
character" and "status" to take on the job.
Lady Kinnock told Journalists in Strasbourg that Mr.
Blair had been informed of his nomination for one of
the most powerful posts in the EU.
However, Ireland must back Mr. Blair’s nomination in
a referendum, in line with the Lisbon Treaty.
