U-17 Tourney: Police Gives
Assurance On Security
The
Police high command in Nigeria has given an assurance for the
safety and security of participants and fans during the FIFA
U-17 World Cup, which begins on Saturday.
The police spokesman, Mr. Emmanuel Ojukwu said officers would
monitor events before, during and after the tournament.
He urged Nigerians to portray the country’s good image by
maintaining law and order and by exhibiting good conducts
throughout the competition.
Matches will be played in eight cities, namely Abuja, Lagos,
Bauchi and Calabar. The others are Warri, Abeokuta, Ijebu Ode
and Kano.
The Golden Eaglets will file out against their German
counterparts in the opening game in Abuja.
Nigeria is the defending champion.
