Taekwondo
Training Holds In Abuja
A
two-day taekwondo training workshop for Nigerian U-23 athletes
will be held next month in Abuja to spur athletes to aspire high
in the sport.
The workshop, which is meant for twenty-two randomly selected
athletes below 23 years across the country, is initiated and
organized by the 2008 Beijing Olympics bronze medalist, Chika
Chukwumerije.
Chukwumerije pointed out that he has already reached out to the
Nigeria Taekwondo Federation (NTF) with his programme and also
has the support of the Nigerian Taekwondo Black Belt College (NTBBC)
and the Korean Cultural Centre.
He said the objective of the programme is to inspire the
athletes to aspire for greatness as well as acquaint them with
the latest rules guiding the competition, and more importantly,
fighting techniques that would allow them exploit these new
rules to the fullest.
