Nigeria Congratulates Togolese On
Successful Election
Nigeria
has sent goodwill message to the Togolese people on the
successful conduct of last Presidential polls on 4th March,
2010.
Acting President Goodluck Jonathan, on behalf of the government
and people of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, also
congratulated the newly elected President.
Dr. Jonathan stated that the outcome of the election has further
demonstrated the resolve of the Togolese people to ensure that
democracy is sustained.
He called on the President-elect to extend a hand of fellowship
to all those who contested with him and ensure that the interest
of the Togolese people is kept in view at all times.
He advised those dissatisfied with the outcome of the election
to follow the path of constitutionalism and due process, as laid
down by the relevant laws of Togo.
