Government
Restates Commitment To Vision 2020
The
Nigerian government has reiterated its commitment to the
attainment of Vision 20:2020 which seeks to place Nigeria among
the world's twenty top economies by the Year 2020.
The Minister of
State for Finance, Mr. Remi Babalola said in Abuja that a virile
financial system was sacrosanct for the attainment of the
Vision.
He said this had necessitated the ongoing reforms in the
financial sector.
Babalola said
massive investments in infrastructure, particularly power, roads
and agriculture, were being pursued by the government to boost
the economy.
He also said the economy was being diversified from oil to
non-oil sector in order to effectively mitigate the effects of
the current global economic recession.
