INVESTOR TO NIGERIA AS OPPOSITION PARTY SUPPORTS YAR’ADUA
The
Chairman of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party in Nigeria,
Prince Vincent Ogbulafor has urged foreign diplomats to prepare
grounds for investments in Nigeria from their countries.
Ogbulafor also told the envoys at an interactive session between
them and the PDP leadership to create easy working relationships
and trade between Nigeria and their home countries.
He said Nigeria was open to investors and wishes to partner with
them economically, politically and socially.
The Chairman said Nigeria has a lot of human and material
resources which they will need the technical assistance of the
home countries of the envoys to explore, adding that President
Umaru Yar’Adua was ready to discuss matters that would benefit
Nigerians.
Meanwhile, the major opposition party in the country, the All
Nigeria Peoples Party, ANPP, National Executive, NEC meeting
took place in Damaturu, Yobe State, North East Nigeria. The
meeting reaffirmed the party’s faith in the Government of
National Unity under President Umaru Yar’Adua.
This was contained in a communiqué at the end of a meeting
attended by two of the five states governors, national and
states leaders and other key offices of the party.
The ANPP NEC also set up a committee under a one time
Presidential aspirant of the party, Alhaji Bashir Tofa, to
reconcile the various factions of the party.
The party expressed confidence in the leadership of Chief Umeh
Ezeoke, and called on the Federal Government to address the
problem of high food prices in the country.
