Strategises For Anambra 2010 Elections
Nigeria's
Vice President Goodluck Jonathan, has urged members of the
ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to remain disciplined in
order to keep the party strong, as it campaigns vigorously to
win the forthcoming Anambra gubernatorial election.
Speaking at the PDP Secretariat in Abuja, while inaugurating a
National Campaign Committee for next year's governorship race in
Anambra State, Vice President Jonathan urged the National
Chairman of the Party, Chief Vincent Ogbulafor to assert his
authority in order to maintain party discipline.
He also asked members to work in line with the party's vision
for it to be successful in the forthcoming elections in Anambra
state and future elections.
The Vice President urged the members to unite and avoid a repeat
of problems, which led to party's failure in some states in past
elections.
He appealed to members from Anambra State to remain strong and
indivisible.
The National Chairman, Chief Vincent Ogbulafor said the party
had spared no effort in choosing a campaign team of credible,
intellectually sound, high standing and result oriented men and
women to lead the Anambra 2010 guber elections.
The thirty-four member Committee has the Vice President, Dr.
Goodluck Ebele Jonathan as the Chairman and others are: the
Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu; Deputy National
Chairman of the Party, Dr. Bello Haliru Mohammed; National
Organizing Secretary, Prince Uche Secondus, and National Women
Leader, Hajia Inna Ciroma.
Others are Governors Emmanuel Uduaghan of Delta State; Ibrahim
Idris of Kogi State; Isa Yuguda of Bauchi State; Alao Akala of
Oyo State and former BOT Secretary, Professor Jerry Gana.
Also, in the campaign team are former Senate President, Anyim
Pius Anyim; Chief Whip of the House of Representatives, Emeka
Ihedioha; Chief Jim Nwobodo; all PDP Senators and members of the
House of Representatives from South East zone; all the Party's
Governors from South East zone and Chief Arthur Eze. Deputy
National Secretary of the Party, Dr. Musa Babayo is to serve as
secretary.
