Rivers State College Of Education Now A University

The Rivers State college of Education in south eastern Nigeria has now been upgraded to a university, after a bill assigning it the new status was signed into law, by Governor Rotimi Amaechi.

A one-time provost of the college, Professor Egulu Green is to serve as the premier acting Vice Chancellor of the new state’s university of education.

Governor Amaechi said the Rives State University of Education law of 2009 is cardinal to the educational development of the state.
