Nigerian Cuisines To
Feature At 2010 World Cup
The
Nigerian Tourism Development Corporation (NTDC) says it will use
the 2010 World Cup in South Africa to promote Nigerian cuisines.
Strategy
Addressing newsmen in
Abuja, the Director-General NTDC, Chief Olusegun Runsewe, said
the Corporation had concluded plans to build a Nigeria Village
in Johannesburg, South Africa, to showcase Nigerian music,
dances and cuisines.
Runsewe said the Corporation intends to build a window to make
the people from other parts of the world to remember Nigeria
after the World Cup.
He said that the corporation was in contact with March Company
of South Africa and has also engaged Kenny Prime Entertainment
as one of its marketing partners.
Impact
Runsewe said the idea is to sell Nigeria positively to the world
and as well show them what the country has to offer.
He said the Corporation has contacted two major restaurateurs in
Europe and South Africa to set up the restaurant in the village,
and also invited the thirty-six states to feature in the event.
