Senate Vote On Review
Of 1999 Constitution

The
Nigerian Senate is voting on the Clause by Clause consideration
of the report of its committee on the amendment of country’s
1999 constitution.
At plenary on Tuesday, the senate considered the report clause
after clause and resolved that it would use the repaired
automated electronic voting system in the senate chambers to
conduct the clause by clause voting on Wednesday.
The high point of the recommendations by the committee include
the inclusion of a clause which makes it imperative for the
electoral commission to dispose of election cases not earlier
than ninety days and not later than one hundred and fifty days.
