Nigeria And Kenya To Agree
On New Visa Policy

Nigeria
and Kenya are working towards issuing Visa to its citizens at
point of entry.
President Umaru Yar’Adua
stated this when the new Kenyan High Commissioner to Nigeria,
Mr. Kipyegon Arap Segie presented his letters of credence in
Abuja.
He welcomed on-going
negotiations between the two countries on this new Visa policy.
Appraisal
President Yar’Adua also
expressed pleasure at the good working relationship in the
Kenyan unity government, stressing that leaders in Africa must
get rid of unstable political culture and focus on development.
Earlier, the Kenyan Envoy Mr.
Arap Segie expressed his country’s desire to improve investment
and trade with Nigeria as one of the reasons for considering the
issuance of visas at the entry point for Nigerian visitors.
He said the unity government
had enjoyed a good working relationship and pledged to do his
best during his tenure in Nigeria.
President Yar’Adua also
received the letters of credence of the new Sierra Leonean High
Commissioner to Nigeria, Mr. Henry Olufemi Macaulay, where he
gave assurance of Nigeria’s continued cooperation with the West
African nation.
