Finalise MOU On New Visa Regime
Nigeria
and South Africa are to finalise a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) that will
see a new visa free regime for selected nationals of the two countries.
The Nigerian Vice-President, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan gave this indication in Cape
Town, South Africa, at a dinner hosted for him and the Speaker of the House of
Representatives, Mr. Dimeji Bankole.
Speaker of the South African National Assembly, Honourable Maxwell Sisulu hosted
the two, as part of activities marking the tenth year anniversary of
Nigeria-South Africa Bi-National Commission.
Vice President Jonathan said that the MOU would be endorsed in Abuja in a
fortnight. It will allow holders of diplomatic passports of both countries
travel without visas.
The vice-president said the move would open another vista in strong ties between
both countries.
