Nigeria
To Increase Funding Of Foreign Missions
The
Nigerian House of Representatives says it will ensure more
funding of Nigerian missions abroad to give muscle to the
nation’s diplomatic profile.
The
speaker, Mr. Dimeji Bankole, said this at a dinner organised in
his honour at the residence of Nigeria’s Consul-General
Designate in Johannesburg, Mr. Okay Emuchay.
Mr. Bankole said it was essential to give pep to funding of
missions in their quest to perform their responsibilities.
He said the House was also committed to supporting Nigerians in
Diaspora, in line with the mandate of being representatives of
the people.
Bankole noted the challenges facing the Consulate in
Johannesburg but, urged Mr. Emuchay to explore his experience in
diplomacy to enhance relations between Nigeria and South Africa.
