African Parliamentarians Meet In Abuja .
Parliamentarians
from Africa are Meeting in Abuja , the Nigerian Capital, to
prepare a roadmap to accelerate urgent action towards effective
development of strategies for the realization of the Millennium
Development Goals, MDGs.
NAP Inauguration
The Chairman, Nigeria House of Representatives Committee on MDGs,
Saudatu Sani, told newsmen in Abuja that a Network of African
Parliamentarians on MDGs would also be inaugurated.
Sani said that after the inauguration, the conference would also
engage other lawmakers in reviewing all the goals to be met
before the end of the year.
She said other issues to be discussed at the conference, include
the inter-connections between achieving the MDGs, ensuring food
security, tracking climate change and addressing the global
financial and economic crisis.
