Sierra Leone:
President Koroma Names Cabinet
Sierra Leone’s President, Ernest Bai
Koroma has nominated candidates for his new cabinet. Mr. Ibrahim
Kargbo, President of the journalists union, is among the ten
people named as ministers.
Kargbo is to handle information and communication, in the list
which comes almost a month after Mr. Koroma's election.
Also on the list is Mr. David Carew, Head of the accounting firm
KPMG, who is tipped to be in the Finance and Development
Ministry, while Abubakar Jalloh, a geologist, is for Mineral
Resources.
A former gender activist, Zainab Bangura is nominated for the
Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Ministry.
Nominees were also named for the Ministries of Justice and
Attorney General; Agriculture and Food Security; Health;
Presidential and Public Affairs; Housing and
Infrastructural Development as well as Lands, Country Planning
and Environment.
The nominations are subject to confirmation by the parliament.
