Kenya Confirms First Case of H1N1 Flu
The
Kenyan Ministry of Health has confirmed the first
case of the H1N1 flu, the fourth verified case of
swine flu in Africa.
A statement by the Minister of Public Sanitation,
Beth Mugoco established the incidence of the flu in
Kenya.
Global situation
According to the World Health Organisation, the
disease has infected nearly 60,000 people worldwide
and killed 263.
Africa has been relatively spared from the outbreak
of this flu but, cases mainly in people who had been
traveling from North America, have over the past
month been reported in Egypt, Ethiopia and South
Africa.
