Aloysius Katsina-Alu has been sworn-in as the eleventh Chief
Justice of Nigeria.
Justice Idris Legbo Kutigi, the outgoing Chief Justice of
Nigeria, , administered the oath on the new Chief Justice along
with Justice Isa Ayo Salami as the President of the Court of
Appeal.
Justice Katsina-Alu officially assumes office on Thursday, when
Justice Kutigi retires, after attaining the mandatory retirement
age of seventy years.
Justice Salami who becomes the fifth President of the Court of
Appeal in Nigeria takes over from Justice Umaru Abdullahi, who
is also retiring on age basis.
The appointment of Justices Katsina-Alu and Salami was approved
by the Senate two weeks ago.
