JAMB Introduces New Examination
A
new Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination is to replace the existing
University Matriculation Examination from April 2010.
Public Relations Officer of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, Miss
Chinwe Ogbuka, said students would have to write the unified matriculation
examinations before being admitted into Colleges of Education, Polytechnics and
Universities.
The new system would permit candidates to opt for any of the tertiary
institutions, with a maximum of two choices each, to ensure that prospective
candidates do not forfeit any year of study while attempting a particular
entrance examination.
The examinations board has embarked on
sensitization programmes for a smooth take-off of the new Unified Tertiary
Matriculation Examination.
