Representatives Sets Up Committee To Probe Its Finances

House of Representatives has set up a thirty-six-member ad hoc
committee to investigate the spending of the House Committee on
Services since its inauguration.
The House took the decision in Abuja , the country’s Capital,
during an executive session presided over by Speaker Dimeji
Bankole.

The House also charged the ad hoc committee to come up with
suggestions on how the 2010 capital budget of the House would be
spent.
The committee was also asked to examine the budget to ascertain
the entitlements of each member and report back to the House
within two days.
Members’ Complaints
Members of the House of Representative had earlier, complained
of paucity of funds and attributed it to the way and manner the
leadership handled the House finances.
