Nigeria Hosts Guinean Political Leaders In Abuja
Nigeria
is hosting stakeholders in the political crisis in
Guinea in Abuja, on ways of finding solution to the
civil unrest in their country.
The Guinean delegation comprising politicians,
Labour leaders and civil society is led by ousted
Guinean Prime Minister, Ahmed Tidiane Souare.
The Nigerian President and ECOWAS Chairman, Umaru
Yar’Adua and leaders from other West African
countries would speak with the Guinean delegation on
how to restore democracy in the West African
country.
Optimism
The former Guinean Prime minister also confirmed
that the 20 member - delegation was looking forward
to an amicable solution of the country’s political
instability at the Abuja meeting.
He said they resolved to hold discussions with the
ECOWAS leaders in Abuja after several attempts at
making the military relinquish power to a
democratically elected government failed.
