Weather.
The
Nigerian civil Aviation Authority has urged Pilots flying on
Nigeria’s airspace to be careful of frequent hazardous weather
conditions.
In a statement by the Director-General, Dr. Harold Demuren to
airline chief executive officers and Director of flight
operations, the Aviation Authority said the weather condition
was more rampant during the dry season.
Caution
The agency advised pilots to carefully review the procedures for
their operations whenever a forecast shows that reduced
visibility or other adverse weather conditions might exist for
any portion of the flight.
It said that the Nigerian Airspace management Agency would close
airport to arrivals and departures when the runway visual range
was measured at less than eight hundred meters.
The Aviation Authority also said pilots should keep passengers
informed of possible flight delays and cancellations as safety
should be the highest priority.
