FIFA Inspection Team Arrives In Nigeria

Ahead of “Nigeria
2009,” an eight-man facilities inspection team
from the world soccer ruling body, FIFA is in Lagos.
Led by FIFA’s Vice
President, Jack Warner, the team commences its tour
of facilities on Saturday, as Nigeria prepares to
host the 2009 Federation of International Football
Association (FIFA) Under-17 World Youth
Championship.
A release by the
Nigeria Football Association said the FIFA
delegation would be hosted to a dinner party in
Lagos, before departing for Enugu on Saturday.
The team would
inspect facilities at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium,
the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (Enugu Campus)
football pitch, the Nike Lake Resort and other top
ranking hotels.
Enugu University
Teaching Hospital and Niger Foundation hospital are
also to be visited by the team before leaving for
Calabar, Rivers state, in continuation of the visit.
The FIFA delegation
would also visit Warri in Delta State, state
capitals of Kano, Bauchi and Kaduna. They will also
be in Nigeria’s Federal Capital, Abuja and Ijebu-Ode
in Ogun State to inspect sports facilities.
The FIFA team is
expected to end its visit next week Wednesday.
