Local, Foreign Companies Mark Presence At Fair
The
ongoing Akawaba Travel Exhibition in Lagos state, Nigeria’s
commercial capital, has been projected to generate about one
hundred million dollars.
The Director-General of the Nigerian Tourism Development
Corporation, Chief Olusegun Runsewe said that the exhibition
attracted more than twelve foreign countries and some
fifty-eight tourism exhibitors and airlines.
According to him, the event will add multiple benefits to the
economy that cannot be immediately quantified.
He said it had provided Nigeria the opportunity to showcase its
tourism potential as well as enabled participants to have first
hand access to the nation's tourist attractions.
The exhibition is organised, as part of efforts by the tourism
corporation to spur operators evolve innovations and products
that would attract both foreign tourists and operators to
collaborate with local operators.
