Cross Rivers State To
Establish Power Plant

The
Cross River state government says it has concluded plans to
establish an independent power plant in the state to improve the
power supply for sustainable socio economic development in the
state.
The Special Adviser to the governor on investment promotion, Mr.
Gerald Adah disclosed this at a stakeholder’s forum on the state
independent power project in Calabar, Cross River state,
Southern Nigeria.
Mr. Adah pointed out that the power project which was expected
to boost power generation in the state from forty to eighty mega
watts would commence by the year 2010.
The special adviser noted that the project would be funded
through a public- private partnership as part of the state
government’s efforts to attract investment opportunities from
both local and foreign investors.
