Forum Asks Acting
President To Resolve Energy Crisis.
The
Forum of South-South Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines and
Agriculture in Nigeria has urged Acting President, Goodluck
Jonathan to resolve the persistent energy crisis by building
power plants through public private partnership.
In a communique at the end of its inaugural meeting in Yenagoa,
Bayelsa State Capital, the forum suggested that more power
generating plants be built nationwide to solve the energy
crisis.
The forum also urged the government to implement the post
amnesty programme with dispatch through training programmes to
involve back to land schemes, educational enhancement, skill
acquisition, micro and macro credit schemes and appropriate post
high school programmes.’
The forum, made up of eleven city chambers of commerce in the
south-south states, has its secretariat in Warri, Delta State.
