32 Youths Receive National Honour
Uche Aneke, Abuja.

Thirty two youths, who just concluded the National Youth Service Corps programme, have received the 2009 Presidential Honours.

They are graduates of universities and polytechnics who distinguished themselves in various processes of nation building during the compulsory one-year national service.

Presenting the awards to the youths, Vice President Goodluck Jonathan said that the compulsory service scheme has continued to be relevant in the realisation of the country’s development agenda, especially within the scope of education and healthcare.

He said that the government would ensure sustenance of the youth service programme and make it more functional to support the realisation of the seven point agenda of the present government.

The thirty two graduates were awarded a national certificate of honour, gold medal, cash prizes and automatic employment in the Federal Civil Service.
