32 Youths Receive
National Honour

Thirty
two youths, who just concluded the National Youth Service Corps
programme, have received the 2009 Presidential Honours.
They are graduates of universities and polytechnics who
distinguished themselves in various processes of nation building
during the compulsory one-year national service.
Presenting the awards to the youths, Vice President Goodluck
Jonathan said that the compulsory service scheme has continued
to be relevant in the realisation of the country’s development
agenda, especially within the scope of education and healthcare.
He said that the government would ensure sustenance of the youth
service programme and make it more functional to support the
realisation of the seven point agenda of the present government.
The thirty two graduates were awarded a national certificate of
honour, gold medal, cash prizes and automatic employment in the
Federal Civil Service.
