NFF Concludes
Interview Of Foreign Coach

The
Nigeria Football Federation has concluded the interview of
coaches for the post of the head coach of the Nigerian National
team, the Super Eagles.
A Swedish coach, Lars Lagerback, was the last of the prospective
coaches interviewed by a panel of Nigeria FA official and the
Presidential Task Force, on Friday in Abuja.
Other coaches
interviewed earlier are Bruno Metsu, Glenn Hoddle, Sven Goran-Eriksson
and Ratomir Djukovic.
One of the five coaches
would be announced today, after an emergency board meeting of
the Football Federation in Abuja, Nigeria’s capital to lead the
country to the World cup in June in South Africa.
The Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, has set a semi-final
target for the new coach at this summer’s World Cup.
The Super Eagles will play in group B at the 2010 FIFA World cup
against Argentina, Greece and South Korea starting from June 11
to July 11 in South Africa.
Nigerians were not happy with the performances of the Super
Eagles, in their recent outing at the Nations cup in Angola.
A member of panel and Director General of Nigeria Sports
Commission, Patrick Ekeji said the attendance confirmed the
coaches high regard for Nigeria and the national football team,
the Super Eagles.
The position of the Super Eagles Technical Adviser became vacant
after the sacking of Shuaibu Amodu, who took the team to third
position at the recent Africa Cup of Nations in Angola.
At the end of the interview session with the coaches, the
Nigerian Sports Commission said they were highly delighted with
the top coaches screened for the vacant position of the Super
Eagles job.
