Build Up To CAF
Championship
As
part of their preparations for next month's Africa Cup of
Nations finals in Angola, Malawi will take on Nigeria's Super
Eagles in January.
A report on the Confederation of Africa Football (CAF) website,
cafonline.com, said the proposed friendly will take place on
January the 5th at a yet to be decided venue.
The Eagles will move to camp in South Africa on December 28th,
ahead of the continental championship.
Malawi, who qualified for the finals of the biennial continental
championship after 25 years, will also take on Ghana on December
23rd in South Africa.
The Malawians, who are drawn against host Angola, Mali and
Algeria, are already in camp.
Friendly
Meanwhile, Angola, currently camping in Portugal, is billed
to face second division side, Portimonense SC in a friendly at
their training site on Saturday.
Their second game is scheduled for December 16th against first
division team, Olhanense during their month-long training in
Portugal before returning home on January the 5th.
They have also lined up friendlies against Estonia on December
30th and Tunisia on January 3rd. Both games will take place in
an unspecified European country.
The 19-man team in camp is made up largely of home-based
players.
