2010 Budget Gives Priority To Pension Arrears

About Seventy billion naira has been set aside by the Nigerian government, in the 2010 budget, for the payment of arrears of five year pension and benefits of retired workers.

Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Yayale Ahmed said President Umaru Yar’Adua has ordered the Ministry of Finance to include the amount in the Year 2010 appropriation budget.

He said that provision for the amount in next year’s budget had been planned and the National Assembly would be informed to ensure its implementation.
