2010 Budget Ready By
End Of March

The
Nigerian Senate says the 2010 budget will be ready before the
end of this month.
The Chairman Senate committee on Information and Media, Senator
Ayogu Eze, gave the indication while briefing newsmen at the
National Assembly, Abuja.
Senator Eze said that the delay in approving the budget was due
to the late injection of additional sum by the Executive as well
as computations that had to be painstakingly done.
The Executive had presented an appropriation of over Four Point
Zero Seven Trillion Naira to the National Assembly for passage
into law as the country’s budget for 2010.
VON Correspondent reports that the Senate also expressed
preparedness to pass the Electoral Reform Act before the
commencement of the general election next year.
