Nigeria To Begin Production Of Bio Fuel
Nigeria will soon begin the production of large
scale bio fuel.
The Director General, National Research Institute
for Chemical technology, Dr. Ebenezer Okonkwo who
stated this added that the bio fuel plant at the
Institute was currently producing 1,800 litres of
ethanol per day.
Dr. Okonkwo said the plant in Abuja produces three
batches per day with 600 litres per batch.
He told newsmen that bio fuel had an advantage over
conventional fuel, because it does not produce toxic
gasses, such as Carbon dioxide, Nitrogen dioxide and
Sulphur dioxide which affect the climate.
Dr. Okonkwo said that apart from providing fuel, it
created opportunities for large-scale farming, and
could be used in the production of raw materials for
organic fertilizer.
