Inaugurate Airport Project
Niger
State, in Northern Nigeria, is to inaugurate a six
hundred-million dollars Minna Airport City project in
collaboration with a private indigenous firm, Maevis Nigeria
Ltd. says it had concluded plans with the Government of.
The Head, External Relations of Maevis, Mr Remi Olumuyiwa made
the disclosure at a news conference at the Murtala Muhammed
International Airport in Lagos.
Olumuyiwa said that the agreement for the project had been
signed with a consortium of private companies and would be
inaugurated on Tuesday.
He said that the project, which would be funded from off shore
multilateral funds, would also create job for Nigerians and
enhance economic development in the state.
Olumuyiwa noted that aside the project adding value to aviation,
it will also a melting point for travelers and tourists.
He said that Maevis was discussing with blue chip companies to
invest in the project, that will be in phases, with the first
phase ending in 2013.
