African Nations Undertake
Joint Gas Project

Leaders of Nigeria, Ghana,
Sao-Tome and Principe and Equatorial Guinea have inaugurated the
Liquefied Natural Gas Plant in Malabo, Equatorial Guinea.
Nigeria’s President Umaru Musa Yar’Adua, Fredrick De Menez of
Sao-Tome and Principe and President Theodore Obiang Nguema of
Equatorial Guinea launched the LNG Plant in Malabo, Equatorial
Guinea as part of an African initiative for development in line
with African Union objectives.
Ghanaian President and Chairman of the African Union, Mr. John
Kuffour described the project as another step by African nations
to take charge of their destiny.
President Kuffour said African Nations now have greater say than
ever before in the management of their resources.
The A.U. Chairman said he had followed with keen interests, the
development in Equatorial Guinea, where the government used its
new found wealth for its progress.
