Yar’adua Returns As Jonathan Continues

President
Umaru Yar’Adua has asked Acting President GoodLuck Jonathan to
continue to oversee the affairs of state pending his complete
recuperation.
A statement by the Special Adviser to the President on Media and
Publicity, Mr. Olusegun Adeniyi said Yar’adua’s return followed
his discharge from a hospital in Saudi Arabia.
The statement expressed President Yar’adua’s gratitude to all
Nigerians for their prayers and their exceptional generosity of
spirit.
Yar’Adua thanked Acting President Jonathan, for overseeing the
affairs of state in his absence.
The statement also expressed gratitude to members of the
National Assembly, the Governors’ Forum, the Judiciary, the
Armed Forces, other security agencies and eminent Nigerians for
their roles in maintaining order and stability.
The President re-assured Nigerians that on account of their
unceasing prayers and by the grace of God, his health has
greatly improved.
President Yar’Adua returned to the country in the early hours of
Wednesday after spending three months for medical treatment in a
Saudi hospital.
