Lawmakers To Visit
President In Saudi Arabia

The
Nigerian House of Representatives delegation under the
leadership of The Speaker of the House Dimeji Bankole is to
visit President Umaru Yar’Adua in Saudi Arabia.
The decision came after a closed door session of the House.
Briefing newsmen after the meeting, Chairman House of
Representatives committee on Media and Publicity, Mr Eseme Eyibo,
said the delegation would convey the goodwill of the House to
the president and also discuss other national issues.
Disappointment
Meanwhile, the Action Congress caucus in the House has
expressed disappointment that the issue of the incapacitation of
the president should not have been discussed behind closed
doors.
He said that in view of the comments the issue has generated is
should have been discussed for all Nigerians to hear.
Also the All Nigeria Peoples Party caucus in the House says that
the solution to the matter lay with the Federal Executive
Council, adding that it is the only statutory body charged with
the responsibility to initiate action on the matter.
