Commissions Landmark Projects

Voice
of Nigeria, VON, Nigeria’s international radio broadcasting
station has commissioned a newly built Digital Musical Recording
and Editing Studios as well as a Penthouse, in its Lagos office.
The three projects were unveiled by the Minister of Information
and Communications, Professor Dora Akunyili.
The projects were named after two former Directors-General of
the Corporation, Mallam Yaya Abubakar and Chief Taiwo Allimi and
Mrs. Eno Irukwu, a former Director, External Service of Radio
Nigeria, now Voice of Nigeria.
Value Added
The Musical and Editing Studios were built to
generate funds for Voice of Nigeria, while the Penthouse is to
accommodate members of staff on essential and shift-duties.
The Chairman, Board of Directors of VON, Mrs. Stella Attoe has
enjoined the staff of the Corporation to continue with the team
spirit existing amongst them.
She was speaking at a meeting of the board of directors and
management of the corporation and members of staff in Lagos,
during which the board was formally introduced to the staff.
The Director-General, Mallam Abubakar Jijiwa attributed the
success of Voice of Nigeria to the ideas contributed by members
of staff and commended them for their dedication to duty.
