Anambra Upgrades
Schools Science Laboratories

The
government of Anambra State, in south eastern Nigeria has made
available the sum of over One Hundred Million Naira for
rehabilitation of science laboratories in about forty schools.
Governor Peter Obi said the benefiting schools cut across all
the Educational Zones state, saying the move is part of efforts
at improving the educational system.
He said that within the next few weeks, government would provide
the schools with science equipment for the laboratories while
massive distribution of computers to schools would re-commence.
He also pledged that his administration would soon provide all
schools with functional libraries.
Governor Obi was speaking at the presentation of cheques to
principals of benefitting schools.
Empowerment
The Commissioner for Education, Dr. Kay Onyechi said the state’s
huge investment in the sector had turned around all levels of
education and had empowered the students to distinguish
themselves in national and international competitions.
It is to be recalled that a few weeks ago, the government paid
hundreds of Millions of Naira to all the towns in Anambra State,
for the construction of 5 classrooms in each town.
