The second edition of Southern Sun Golf Tournament has ended at the golf section of the Ikoyi Club 1938, Lagos, as the quartet of Oluwatoyin Adenuga, Sesan Akinsanya, Goodluck Efemuaye and M. Bakinson claimed the top prize.
Lagos State Governor Babatunde Fashola was represented by the state’s commissioner for sport, Enitan Oshodi, who presented prizes to some of the raffle draw winners, with cameras, Smartphone’s, giant television sets, and several return tickets to many destinations around the world won by club members.
They emerged winners after gathering 80 points to beat R.Currie, T. Maguire, J.Donnachie and K. Conway to the second position. The competition had 35 teams of four players each participating with the last placed team having 38 points.
Winners
Evelyn Oyome won the long drive award in the female category while Peter Eben-Spiff won in the male category.
Captain of the section Ebi Pinnick expressed delight at the club’s partnership with Southern Sun Hotel, urging them not to relent on their effort to improve on the awareness of golf in Nigeria.
