Nigerian athletes urged to prepare for 2016 Olympic

Prospective members of the Nigerian contingent for Rio 2016 have been advised to commence preparations ahead of the Rio Olympic event, following the not-too good performance of Team Nigeria at the London 2012 Olympic Games.

A Nigerian sport analyst, Yemi Adebayo says “the poor preparations and corruption was the reason for the failure in London.
I call on relevant authorities to make available all that is necessary for the athletes to perform in Rio 2016.”

 The Olympic Games ended with a spectacular closing ceremony on Sunday 12th August 2012.

The US finished in first place with 104 medals followed by China with 88 and Great Britain with 65 medals.
