Reigning champions of the Nigeria female league Delta Queens will begin their defence of the title on March 3 against Osun Babes.

Delta Queens who will be looking to maintain their good run from the previous season, could face tougher task in the 2012 campaign after they were pitched in the same group with challenge cup holders Rivers Angels and closest rivals Bayelsa Queens.

According to the draws made on Thursday in Abuja, Nasarawa Amazon will kick off hostilities in group A when they host Sunshine queens. Kogi confluence will face Pelican stars, Ibom queens have a date with Cerezo queens while FCT queens will lock horns against Inneh queens when Oguche babes travel to the far north to trade tackles with Adamawa queens.

In group B, challenge cup holders, Rivers Angels will battle Bayelsa queens, it will be Garden queens versus Tokas queens, Police Machines versus Nito queens and Teno queens will host FC Robo.

The female department of the Nigeria football federation announced that week one of the new league season will be played on Saturday March 3, 2012.
