The
Coach of the Nigerian under-23 national football
team, Samson Siasia, has assured the country of
victory in this month’s Olympics qualifier duel
South-Africa.
Speaking with Voice of Nigeria in Abuja during
training, Coach Siasia said he had prepared his boys
well for the crucial match.
‘’I have prepared my boys for the game, much harder
than we’ve done for any previous game and I can tell
you that we will do the country proud on March 26”,
Siasia said.
He said there are 30 players in camp now but he
expects some foreign based players to arrive camp at
the end of next week.
Enthusiasm
Siasia, who scored a decisive goal for Nigeria
against Argentina at the 1994 World Cup, says he is
looking forward to the encounter against the
South-African under 23 team with enthusiasm.
In his words, “I have been told that six of their
players featured for South Africa’s senior team at
the Olympics. That’s good; it means we’re in for a
tough match. I love tough games; my boys love tough
games.''
Decisive
The Nigeria versus South-Africa match is scheduled
for March 26 in Abuja.
And a win for Nigeria
will qualify the Dream Team IV for the football
event of the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing, China.
And as Nigeria prepares for the crucial tie, the
Nigerian FA is leaving no stone unturned for the
team to achieve the victory.
Already the team had
played some friendly games while more have been
lined up for the team.
The Dream Team 1V will next week take on the home
–based Super Eagles in a friendly game at the
National Stadium in Abuja.
