Stanley Madu

The ninth edition of Nestle' Milo Nigerian Secondary Schools Basketball Championship will kick off on Tuesday, 16th and end on the 20th of October.

Klaus Wachsmuth, Managing Director and Chief Executive of Nestle' Nigeria Plc, said in Lagos, South West Nigeria, that the competition, scheduled for the Indoor Sports Hall of the National Stadium, Lagos, is to encourage youths at the grassroots to embrace sports.

Assurances

Colonel Sam Ahmedu, a member of the board of Nigerian Basketball Federation, NBBF and coordinator of the events says the expectation is to ensure the championship grows in scope.

Walter Okafor, a business manager of Nestle Nigeria Plc says that they expect a leverage that will take the championship to higher heights.

Previous editions of the competition had remarkable impact, serving as an avenue to recruit young talents for future competitions, both at local and international levels.

The opening match on October 16th will be between Model Secondary School, Abuja, Northern Nigeria and Government Teachers College, Abakaliki, Ebonyi State, South Eastern Nigeria.
