Japan Gives Grants For Schools Renovation In Abuja

The
Japanese Government has given a grant of about fifteen million naira to
two Non Governmental Organisations in country for the construction and
renovation of primary schools in Abuja Nigeria’s Capital and Imo State
in South Eastern Nigeria.
The schools are in Bwari Area Council of
the Federal Capital Territory and Awo Omama, in Imo State in South
Eastern Nigeria.
Speaking at the signing ceremony in
Abuja, the Japanese Ambassador to Nigeria, Mr. Toshitsugu Uesawa, said,
the grants were given under Japan’s Grant Assistance for the Grassroots
Human Security Project; and were intended to assist the country’s
grassroots development.
Mr. Uesawa said Japan would always assist
the people of Nigeria, so long as they would want to development
themselves.
The recipients of the grants, Jigakuchi
Primary School Bwari, North Central and the Obibi Primary School Awo
Omama, Imo state, southeast of Nigeria, expressed appreciation to the
Japanese government.
They promised to make judicious use of
the money for the projects it was meant for.
