NIGERIAN SENATE SETS UP COMMITTEE
ON FOOD CRISIS
The
Nigerian Senate has set up a twelve member Ad-hoc committee to
investigate the persisting food crisis in the country in spite
of the huge investments in Agricultures since 1999.
It also called on President Umaru
Yar’Adua to release his agricultural master plan in line with
the food Security aspect of the government’s seven point agenda.
These were part of the
resolutions after a debate on the Motion on Nigerian food
crisis, as well as the need to probe procurement and
Distribution of Fertilizers and Grains since 1999.
