Sweden To Strengthen
Relations With Nigeria
Sweden
has expressed her readiness to strengthen existing relations
with Nigeria.
Swedish Ambassador to Nigeria, Mr. Per Lindgarde said in an
interview in Abuja on Thursday, that plans were underway to
strengthen the ties between both countries.
The ambassador stressed the need to explore other areas of
relations apart from political and trade relations.
’’Nigeria is one of Sweden's largest trading partners in
Africa and there are plans to strengthen this,’’ he
emphasised.
He described the appointment of a Swede as the new technical
adviser of Nigeria's national football team as a welcome
development.
In his words, ’’ The appointment of Lars Lagerback as
Nigeria's technical adviser is a positive development because it
is going to enhance the relations…I think it is good for the
Super Eagles and it is also going to put Sweden on the map,’’
he said.
The Ambassador was at the ceremony held in Abuja on Wednesday,
to introduce Swedish born tactician, Las Lagerback, to Nigerians
as the new technical adviser of the Super Eagles.
