VON Entry shortlisted for CBA awards

A Voice of Nigeria’s entry in the 2011 Commonwealth Broadcasting Association CBA annual awards has been shortlisted. The entry, entitled “Between the rock and the hard place” came under the category of Amnesty International’s award for human rights programmes.

According to a release by the organisers, the CBA judging panel said the quality of content produced by entrants was high. It said however, that the World Bank Award for a programme covering development success is not to be awarded as no entrants sufficiently fulfilled the criteria.

The CBA said it was committed to supporting public service media and commended all award sponsors for making the programme possible.
