Unhealthy lifestyle responsible for premature ageing- Health coach
Samuel Okocha, Lagos
A health coach, Feyintola Onagoruwa, has called on Nigerians to embrace healthy life styles to avoid ageing quickly.
Onagoruwa said the environmental hazards of industrialization and poor eating habits were making many Nigerians to look older than their age.
At a health talk organised by the management of Voice of Nigeria in Lagos, she told participants to avoid eating red meat, dairy products and other processed foods because of the unhealthy fats in them.
Onagoruwa said these fats clog the blood vessels, leading to poor circulation of nutrients and high blood pressure among other ailments.
Preventing diseases
To prevent diseases and stem the tide of premature ageing, the health coach encourages Nigerians to do regular physical exercises, rest well and eat plenty of fruits and organic food.
She also advised Nigerians to drink plenty water every day to prevent toxins from accumulating in the body and recommended the use of plants like aloe vera to help cleanse the body system.
"To help new cells to grow is to look younger; you need to do things that will aid the replenishment of cells because there's wear and tear in our body on a daily basis.
"We recommend aloe vera, which helps to get toxins out of the body on a daily basis, so the toxins from yesterday’s waste will be removed from the system. When they (toxins) accumulate and stay for too long then there’s trouble," she explained.
