Kano, Oyo States sets up transition committees

The Kano State Governor-elect Engineer Dr. Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso and the Action Congress of Nigeria,ACN, in oyo state have inaugurated a transition committee to produce a blue print for the successful take off of the new administration in the two states.

In Kano a 23 sub-committees was set up while Oyo ACN leaders called up a 15 eminent Nigerians in the state to come up with brilliants initiatives on how to run good administration for the people of the state.

Better alternative

According to the Chieftain of the ACN, Lam Adesina, the committee will look into the activities of government parastatals, agencies and departments with a view to advice the new governor elect on the path to progress right from the start.

This will enable the Ajumobi led administration provide a better and sustainable governance to the south west state of Oyo.

The Inauguration of the committee in Kano took place at Kano State Indoor Sports Hall in the ancient commercial northern city.

The Kano state Governor-elect charged the committee members to work assiduously and diligently toward the success of the incoming administration.

He says the committee members were drawn from different disciplines, noting that they have good track-records and patriotic zeal to serve their state.

Deliverables

Dr. Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso said that the committees were tasked with the responsibility of mapping out a policy framework and advise the incoming administration in order to deliver the dividends of democracy to the people of Kano State as soon as he is sworn-in.

In his address, the Deputy Governor-elect Dr Abudullahi Umar Ganduje also charged the committees to bolt into action immediately. He said the inauguration of the committees becomes imperative and timely in view of the present situation of Kano State.

The subcommittees are Social Welfare, Security, Sports and Youth Development, Public Service, Water, Government-Owned Media, Electricity, City Transportation, Tourism and Local Government.

Others are Local Government, Environmental Sanitation, Agriculture, Abandoned Projects, Administration of Justice, Education, Women Affairs, Finance and Revenue, Lands, Housing, Physical Planning and Urban Development, Commerce and Industry and Health subcommittee.

The rest are Traditional Institutions, Handover and Religious Affairs subcommittees.
